History

The Rock Island Railroad’s Elk City Depot was constructed in 1913. The depot, was abandoned in 1970, but has been totally restored and repurposed as “The Depot Trading Company Men’s and More Store!” After many months of restoration, “The Depot” has been brought back to life! With many of the original features, like the train ticket windows, the waiting area benches, plus the entire hand cut tile floor is back to its original beauty and luster.
